Design is a funny thing.

Yes, there are basic design concepts and some specialty concepts and practices for every type of designing, whether it be interior design, automotive design or website design.

However, I think that 'design' is a bit like art. Tastes in art and in design 'boil down' to a very basic question ... do you like it? The look, the 'feel' ... and in the case of a website, also the functionality. It has been said by many people ... "I can't tell you what style of art or specific artist I like, I just know it, when I see it!" The same may be true for website design.

Designing a website is not just making a site that functions well, is easy to navigate and is pleasing to look at. Most importantly, it reflects you and your company. I believe that you are the most important person when I setup and design a website ... not me. (Unfortunately, there are many website designers who don't share that view and believe that what they do is more important than the site owner's needs and desires.)
